Hill Davenport Digital Marketing, a leading name in the digital marketing landscape, is seeking an experienced, strategic, and dynamic Social Media Account Manager to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing our clients' online presence by strategizing and implementing effective social media marketing plans.

In the role of a Social Media Manager, you'll direct the digital identity of an organization, orchestrating their social media strategy from inception to execution.

Campaigns and projects across diverse social media platforms will be under your leadership, with the creation of compelling content, data analysis, fostering client relationships, and provision of customer service being key aspects.

Often, a blend of organic content (like posts, images, videos, blogs, memes) and paid advertising forms the crux of social media strategies.

In bigger organizations, the role is explicitly dedicated to social media management or sometimes termed as social media coordination. In smaller and medium businesses, this role often merges with other marketing and communications duties. Within agencies, you might hear the term Social Media Account Manager.

Duties

The nature of your tasks will vary:

As a Social Media Manager, you'll generally need to:

  • Develop and execute creative social media strategies 
  • Manage daily activities on social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, TikTok, Snapchat, Tumblr, and YouTube, tailoring content for different platforms and demographics.
  • Plan and deliver content across various platforms using scheduling tools like Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Buffer, Asana, and Later.
  • Create or coordinate unique, engaging multimedia content across social platforms 
  • Design, launch, and oversee competitions and campaigns that enhance your organization and brand 
  • Establish key relationships with influencers on social media platforms 
  • Carry out audience research 
  • Manage social media communities by responding to posts and fostering discussions
  • Monitor, track, analyze, and report performance on social media platforms with tools like Google Analytics and Facebook Insights 
  • Spot consumer trends to aid planning of social media campaigns 
  • Optimize content to encourage community interaction and engagement 
  • Investigate the latest tools and techniques to find new and improved ways of measuring social media activity 
  • Analyze competitor activity 
  • Suggest improvements to enhance performance 
  • Set goals to amplify brand awareness and increase customer engagement and loyalty 
  • Lead, inspire, and mentor junior staff such as social media executives or assistants 
  • Manage and monitor social media activity budgets 
  • Promote the use of social media within your company and educate other staff (in-house roles) 
  • Foster cross-team and department collaboration 
  • Regularly communicate with clients via telephone, email, conference calls, or in-person meetings (agency roles).
